Lovable to WordPress rebuild

The project
This is a concept project for a fictional painting contractor in Victoria, BC. We first built the site in Lovable, then rebuilt the same design in WordPress with Elementor. The goal was a site the owner can edit without code, with the pieces a local business needs to be found and to receive leads.
The business, photos and reviews are fictional. The builds and the numbers are real.
Before and after
Measured on 30 September 2026, with the same design and content on both versions.
| Check | Lovable (before) | WordPress + Elementor (after) |
|---|---|---|
| Mobile PageSpeed | 90 / 97 / 100 / 100 | 83 / 94 / 100 / 100 |
| Desktop PageSpeed | 99 / 97 / 100 / 100 | 95 / 94 / 100 / 100 |
| Structured data | none detected | HousePainter business and FAQPage, 0 errors |
| Sitemap | 404 | working |
| Quote form | no form action | saves the lead and emails it |
| Editing text and photos | by prompting or code | visual editor, global colours and fonts |
PageSpeed scores are in the order Performance, Accessibility, Best Practices, SEO.
What we added
- Local business and FAQ schema. The Lovable version had none.
- A working XML sitemap. The Lovable version returned a 404.
- A quote form that saves every lead and sends an email notification.
- Global colours and fonts, WebP images, alt text, one H1 and a clean heading order.
- A mobile menu, sticky header and anchor navigation.
The honest note
Lovable is slightly faster. The rebuild trades a few speed points for a site the owner can edit, leads that are delivered, and local SEO.
